I have a writing sample tomorrow for a district on long island for a Special Education position. I was wondering if any fellow teachers remember writing sample questions or know if writing samples would be different based on the position the candidate is going for or if they are the same district-wide. sometimes they ask you to write a letter introducing yourself to the parents for the first time.
another one was a 'speech' for meet the teacher night.

They are always different. Roslyn for example asks a moral question (due to the budget fiasco), other schools base it on content area, or teaching strategies and others base it on developing and implementing a lesson (if i came into your classroom and you were teaching such and such a topic what woudl i see).
