teachers' honeymoons

teachers' honeymoons

Is anybody else here going on their honeymoon over Christmas break? My wedding is October, but I just got an amazong job at a school in the north suburbs of Chicago and I was afraid to ask for the time off at a new school so I just booked from Dec 31- Jan 6. I will be in Jamaica for New Years Eve, which is kind of exciting, but I will be sad to go right back to work after my wedding.

I have to do the same. We're getting married in November, but I teach as an Adjunct at two colleges. There's no way I could take a week off in the middle of the fall semester.

My FH is taking off the weeks before and after the wedding... To do what? I'm not sure... But I'll be back at work 2 days afterward .

We're planning our honeymoon for 'Winter Break' in January . The upside is that we teachers have something to look forward to a few months after the wedding !

Thx! Same to you! I haven't been to a wedding there either, but I've heard similar good things about them. I thought the Normandy was the bigger room - with the elevator in the floor... Maybe I'm getting confused... Seems like a lifetime since last Nov. when we booked everything...

Ok.... I've got it now... Our room is smaller - our guarantee was something like 100-150ppl. Unfortunately, I had a falling out with my father's family after his passing - so that unloaded a huge portion of our guest list. But I'm ok with a small-ish wedding

Who's ur banquet manager? Where r you having your ceremony?

I don't have a full-time job yet, but I am hoping I will in the Fall. We both work in schools, and we were going to go on our HM over x-mas break, but it is SO insanely expensive to travel at that time. I think we are going to do a 'half-moon' and maybe go to Vermont for a few days during that week, and then go on our dream honeymoon to either Australia/Fiji/French Polynesia in the summer.
