I am writing some cover letters and am not sure what the new educational lingo is in LI. I know I have lots of things to change because I included so many 'catch phrases' from the city. When I was applying in the city, they were so focused on you knowing the new vocabulary.

Well in NYC- They always look for Balanced Literacy and Differentiated Instruction. I am not sure what the new push is for in LI. Things always change as administrators and superintendants change.

Balanced Literacy is HUGE in my district. What postion are you applying for? Elementary, special, literacy, middle?

Elementary/ Early Childhood. I also am a staff developer for math and literacy and have my masters in technology. What district are you in?

It sounds like you have a great background and will find a job easily. Differentiated instruction and balanced literacy are keywords here too. Any others you were unsure about?
