OK, so I took FH's name, but I want to still teach under my maiden name...what do I have to change and what do I keep the same?

I think I may do the same thing.... some girls at my school kept their names for teaching only....
not sure how to keep both but good idea! I think its ok..

If you want to keep it simple, just tell the students to call you by the maiden name. That's what my mom did...but only for a few yrs, then she changed her name totally (she thought it was a tad bit confusing to her kids).

hmm thats a good question.
I am getting married in the middle of student teaching, so i think i am going to keep it my maiden name and then next year change it to my married name.

I dont think you have to do anything if you want to stick to ur maiden name. Just have the kids continue to call you by the name they are calling you now..

'08 crasher...when i told my kids i got engaged they all wanted to know what FHs last name was and would joke and call me with his last name (i teach 5th grade) i think if u wanna keep ur last name then just have the students continue to do that...if not then just explain that u got married and now your name is different..they should understand this and although they might forget theyll get the hang of it

I teach High School and my name appears on their programs and report cards...I know there is some specific information out there about this...I have to do more research....argh...I'm sick of research...
