Can anyone give me some advice on taking the exam? I am registering to take it in Oct and wanted to know what you felt was the difficulty level. I picked up a book at the library and see that there is LOTS of info to cover, but the exam is only comprised of 80 questions. Did anyone find that they had used a very helpful study guide of any sort? Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated!

Hi lauren,
I didn't find the LAST very hard, but if you don't test well, it will seem difficult. What I did was order the guide for $5 from the testing center when I registered. Then I also bought the Kaplan book to review. The irony is that I did the best on the math and science sections and I was an English/History major. I will also tell you that you should do the essay first b/c I found that I was really tired towards the end of the exam and was struggling to put words together. All in all, it really isn't bad. Rest the night before and do some review! Good Luck!

I wouldn't stress too much over it. I took it and didn't study anything. I did fine, plus I took another test in the afternoon, which I didn't study for and passed. If you feel there is an area you don't have much knowledge in, then possibly touch up in that area. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Stacey - that is definitely very good to know! I'm still in the school mode (test taking etc) so I figure I should try to get this done asap! The Kaplan review book was one that I was looking at. Thanks again!

Hey Sasha - Thanks for the info... I was reading over a book I got (cant recall name right now) and saw soo much info on things I don't even remember ex. history and all the wars (Spanish Civil War, Mexican / Amer war etc) Then I got to the arts and felt that I wasn't even taught (or maybe just couldnt recall being taught) some of the examples in that part! Scary!

I took it a long time ago, when they first came out. There was a lot of general information but I felt it wasn't too bad. I remember there was a lot of reading comprehension, though, and I also remember being drained by the end of the exam. Good luck!
