Teachers: Need help with a family, culutural/tradtion lesson

Can anyone suggest a good lesson that deals with our families' cultures and tradtions for K-2?

Can you suggest any good books to read?

I teach art, so I always think in that modality. How about 'what my family brings to the table'. You could arrange a large table, add a paper table cloth, and white paper for placemat, etc. Each child could add a tradition that their family follows and draw , collage or write it on the placemat. Example would be: my family eats these food on holidays, or my family wears special colthes for holidays, or in my culture, we celebrate....
It would also make a great bulletin board
...just an idea...
