OK, I am currently working on my portfolio. We have to make one to get tenure (this year!!)and we have to include an updated resume, it's been a while since I updated it and am not sure what to put for duties as a teacher, there's so many and I'm having difficulty condensing it. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Wow! Your district makes you do that for TENURE!? Unreal!
I would just highlight the most important duties - the ones that make you stand out as a teacher.

exactly what went into the portfolio? Did you have to explain whats in it? Is it to a panel of people? I have so many questions I know. I am getting my tenure in the city as soon as we return back to school. I know i really need to pursue a job on LI but i am getting comfortable at my job.

I don't have to explain it to a panel, just hand it in to administration, honestly, many people have said it's more of a formality. There's alot of artifacts, and the biggest component is reflections on past lessons, pofessional development, etc. I just can't wait for it to be over. I'm especially looking forward to no more observations! Good luck!
