TEACHERS - THANKSGIVING (ADDED PIcTURE)

hey ladies.. what do you have planned this week for thanksgiving?

I still dont knwo what i want to do on Wednesday. Not sure if i want to ring in thanksgiving foods and have them taste it or do something smaller.

on Friday we did a KWL about thanksgiving and read a book that explained how it started..

tomorrow we are going to talk about how the indians helped the pilgrams, what they wear and eat etc.. then create paper dolls of native americans.

what do you have planned? i could use some other ideas

ETA I teach 1st grade

here is a picture of the native american paper dolls my kids made - i should have taken pictures of other ones.. these werent as nice as some others because some of these were done by my lower spec ed kids.. but i think they did a great job!

I do love how they all did their hair so different,. one (not in picture ) just did one string and another made a pony tail

oh and here are their turkeys them made last week and im sending them home with the poem attached

I teach 6th grade math, so I just give them math thanksgiving riddles.....

But maybe brainstorm things that they are thankful for in a large group.....then have them each choose one thing and they can't put it on a feather for the turkey. out of the turkey mouth could be the saying 'I am Thankful for..... ' and all their choices are on the feather of the turkey...lol...

I just thought that up...don't know if its a good idea or not....
