Ours doesn't start until April 8th (half day the 7th) & we go back April 19th.....

DH is a High School English Teacher and I think he goes back on the 14th as well. You teachers are lucky son of a guns with all these breaks in between and then the summers off. You all deserve it because during these breaks in the school year DH always has work to do grading projects, homeworks, and tests. You all work all the time so your only time off to relax is the summer. Unless you do summer school....
I'm still jealous though...

Those of you teaching know that the breaks are greatly needed. Teaching is a profession where you are emotionally invested and when you leave the classroom, you can't just leave your day behind (I'm not saying other professions can either), but just that every day you have these little ones looking up to you and so many little incidents that you play over in your head about how you handled something, or something they confided in you. It really is tough and that is not mentioning the academic standards, projects, grading, conferences, report cards, etc.
I wouldn't trade professions though....absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you Cindy. My husband never comes home without school work to do. Everynight he's got work to do. Work that you don't even get paid for, so you deserve those breaks in between. You guys have such important jobs. Probably the most important because you are the ones that teach the people that become lawyers, doctors, nurses, etc. etc. etc.
