Teachers...I am crying right now.

I have this student in my class who is so shy but she is so sweet and she doesn't really say much, but she is so intelligent. anyway, b/c she is so shy, she has been writing me these letters and each one kills me. this student is the kindof student that we do this for, you know? this girl is the kind of student who makes me feel like i am doing a pretty damn good job no matter how $h!tty i feel on my drive home. i am now writing her back because i want her to know that it is people like her who keep this world good.

here is an excerpt:
if i could choose one teacher to have forever, it would most definitely be you. whenever i try to do something scary or hard, i use you as my motivation and trust me, it works. you are a blessing sent to me with the nicest wrapping paper. not only are you my hero, but also my role model! you are always smiling or laughing...i feel bad that you do everything you can to give us a good education and some people don't appreciate your effort. i do!!! thank you!

this killed me!

just wanted to share b/c it really is the kids like this one who make all the other friggin bull$h!t we go through allll worth it!

Don't know if that's just simply the sweetest thing I've ever heard, or it's the pregnancy hormones, but I'm crying right now... OMG, you should be so proud of yourself and the impact you've had on this girl's life...

hi! i just wrote her a note back...that was the best gift a teacher could get, you know? anyway, she is 10. i teach 5th grade. so it also means even more that she is so YOUNG and is so early in her life realizing what goodness can do for someone.

That is such a great letter!!! You deserve it!!! The sign on my desk says teachers change the world one child at a time, and that is exactly what you have done!!!!!
