Im getting really discouraged...I find plenty of websites and books for Pre-K but not for nursery....What kind of songs should I sing....and activities should I do.

I'm not sure what you mean by Nursery? What are the ages of the kids? Any songs that have a lot of repetition is good (easier for them to remember)...lots of hands on small group activities...I did alot of making jello (teaches turn taking and working together), practicing shapes in shaving cream, finger painting, making collages. Lots of gross motor activities...dancing, singing, finger plays, etc. HTH

Laurie Berkner is a singer for children's songs. She is always on Noggin (channel 123). Get her CD and dance with them. Follow the leader. Puzzles. Is nursery 12 months and up? If so, my daughter went to Gymboree and loved balls, blocks, parachute, instruments. Hope that helped.

Re: Teachers...I need some help...

I taught 3's last year & was ready to hang up my hat by the 3rd day of school. I kept forgetting (after teaching 2nd for a number of years) that these kids didn't even know what a line was and for most it was their first time away from mom. I was pulling my hair out. First off let me say, things will get better. By June I missed my babies and they grew soooo much in so many ways from September.

Do a search for nursery activities on google. I have to say I used a number of Pre-K sites and then toned things down.

As w/ the 4's, transitions are SOOOOOO important. We used songs for everything. The first few weeks was all about routines and just getting used to the room and our friends.

They can sing the same songs as the 4's, don't underestimate them. We worked w/ the 4's a lot and they will surprise you at times.

Good luck & don't get discouraged.
