Teachers...or anyone else for that fact, do you feel like you've.......

been sick A LOT this school year? I mean, I know they say you get sick a lot your first few years teaching, but this is ridiculous. I feel like I've been continuously sick for months now. Now I think I have the flu. My muscles have stabbing pains in them and I have a high fever. I'm so sick of being sick!!!!!!!!!!!

I have lucked out big time. I built up some really good immunity!! I have not been sick once in the past two years!! I am knocking on wood right now!!

I am not a teacher, but I have been sick so many times over the past 8 months. I am convinced that it is the subway. I used to live within walking distance to everything and rarely took the train. We just moved way uptown and I have to take the subway all of the time. I think it is the train. I don't want to sound crazy, but it is the only connection I can find.

heidla, that's the same connection I would make in that situation. See, I'm the chorus teacher at my school, and my classroom is really small, so I'm convinced that all the germy air coming from the kids mouths is getting me sick. Not only that, but I teach flute, so that's more germy air aimed at me. I'm so upset. I just want to be healthy. I feel like CRAP!

OH, I hope you feel better!!! I know the feeling. I started taking echinacea and making sure to take a multi everyday. It seems to help.

Maybe you should start wearing a mask to class.

I'm not a teacher but like Heidi I blame it on the trains and my office building. We never get fresh air since the windows don't open. All of the air just keeps going through the vents.

I haven't been sick a lot this year (knock on wood). I am a teacher and I guess I've built a pretty strong immune system. However, in my first couple of years in the profession, I was sick a lot! Hopefully your body will build up some immunity against those little germs that you are constantly surrounded by.

I'm student teaching and my husband works in the city. Between the two of us, it's HIM that has gotten sick SO MUCH MORE! He's sick ALL of the time this year! I too am convinced that it's the subway. Blecht!

i haven't been sick this year (knock wood!) and i think my immunity has finally kicked in! my poor student teacher is so sick right now though!
