Teaching Interview!!!

I have an interview Monday for a reading teacher position. Does anyone have any questions you remember from interviews???

Re: Teaching Interview!!!

This was from a long time ago, but I remember being asked questions about what I would do if a student refused to do work in the class and what I would do if I got an angry phone call from a parent. Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

1. How would you implement balanced literacy into your classroom?

2. What is your favorite childrens' book?

3. What types of assessments do you use to determine reading level and ability?

4. Describe a typical reading lesson.

I am going through the process myself! What district are you interviewing for? Good luck, hope this helped!

Re: Teaching Interview!!!

just wanted to say GOOD LUCK!!!!!
I know when I went on a lot of interviews for Special Ed. There is no way I could prepare my self, because each district asks different questions.
Let us know how you do.
Sending good luck vibes.............

Re: Teaching Interview!!!

good luck!!!

the big one I always got was what steps would you take if a student in your class was continually disruptive...

for HS..I know they look for:
1. talk to the student then
2. call the parent then
3. get administration involved

also it could be possible that they ask you the latest book that you read, current events, etc...

I am an English teacher, and I was asked what was the last book I read, and about the standards and the ELA assesments. Hope this helps. Best of Luck. What district?
