Teaching resume

Ok girls so I know this is not wedding related but I know a lot of you are teachers so I figured I would ask for input. I graduated with my masters in January 2007. I am currently working as a Kindergarten teacher BUT it is only a .5 position and it is not tenure track. I obviously would like a full time position for the fall. I am in the process of updating my resume and I am struggling on some things. Any helpful suggestions to my questions would be WONDERFUL! If it isn't too much of an inconvenience either...if anyone has any great resume formats that they want to FM...I would love you forever! I feel like I finally have the experience and education to get a full time position and I want to do whatever I can to stand out. Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!!!!

1. Should my education still come first even though I have more experience (an actual teaching position)? Should experience come first now?

2. Should I have an objective?

3. Is it still necessary to list my student teaching experiences?

At the moment, my resume is 2 pages and I feel like it needs to be condensed!

I would keep the education first on your resume as that is the standard format. Also, districts would want to know that you have your masters and what area it is in.

If kindergarten has been your only experience teaching, I would definitely add your student teaching as that is showing that you have had exposure and experience in other grades.

I would keep it as concise as possible, as with all of the resumes the HR offices receive, they don't want to sift through extra info.

Good luck!

As someone that has been in the working field for a number of years (and several companies), your education information should come at the end. My resume is set up as follows:

Professional Summary (3 bullets)
Experience
Related Training
Other (volunteer work, tutoring or public speaking opps--anything that has helped you in your field)
Education
Awards
