Ok girls so I know this is not wedding related but I know a lot of you are teachers so I figured I would ask for input. I graduated with my masters in January 2007. I am currently working as a Kindergarten teacher BUT it is only a .5 position and it is not tenure track. I obviously would like a full time position for the fall. I am in the process of updating my resume and I am struggling on some things. Any helpful suggestions to my questions would be WONDERFUL! If it isn't too much of an inconvenience either...if anyone has any great resume formats that they want to FM...I would love you forever! I feel like I finally have the experience and education to get a full time position and I want to do whatever I can to stand out. Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!!!!
1. Should my education still come first even though I have more experience (an actual teaching position)? Should experience come first now?
2. Should I have an objective?
3. Is it still necessary to list my student teaching experiences?
At the moment, my resume is 2 pages and I feel like it needs to be condensed!

Re: teaching resume
1. Should my education still come first even though I have more experience (an actual teaching position)? Should experience come first now? You put first what you want to highlight. If you have one semester teaching a .5 position, but graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA, I'd put the education first. If you have 2 years of teaching experience but graduated with a 3.0 from a local school, I'd put the experience first.
2. Should I have an objective? Yes. Any school you're applying for probably has at least 2 openings, and this way when they thumb through resumes, they'll find yours quickly.
3. Is it still necessary to list my student teaching experiences? YES! Especially if you don't have a lot of experience, highlight everything you've done that shows that you're capable in the classroom.
I just got a full-time teaching position in LI this year after 6 years in the City. FM me if you'd like the sample resume I used to help guide me in writing my own.
