I am VERY interested in getting a teacup Yorkie puppy in the near future. I was wondering if anyone could share info about them with me. I've never had one and am wondering what they are like.
Also, can anyone recommend a breeder or a place to look at to find a good one?
TIA

Re: Teacup Yorkie question
I had a teacup yorkie (had because my parents now have him they wouldn't let him go...)
They're awesome dogs, small little package but HUGE personality. They're very affectionate, loves people. They have a loud bark if they hear things that are outside their environment.
Couple of 'bad' things I've found with teacup yorkies are health related: ours has a rotating patella i think that's how you spell it. Apparently its very common in little dogs. Their knee joints can pop out and it causes them to 'fall' to the floor because they can't use the leg. you can massage it back into place, but it tends to go in by itself. Very scary the first time it happend with my dog.
The second thing is since yorkies are so small they tend to have more of a breathing problem than other dogs. You have to be very careful about the heat (make sure they have AC if its very hot out, although with all dogs you want to do that).
HTH, they're GREAT dogs!! Oh, and they're hypoallergenic, so if anyone in the household is allergic they're great as a pet! The other one to think about is a shih tzu, which I have now, and i LOVE him...
