Re: Tearjerker

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks... a really quick read, but I started crying half way into it and didn't stop until a half hour AFTER finishing the book. I finished it and just sat and sobbed! If thats what you are looking for, this is the book for you.

I cried straight thru The Lovely Bones. Matt kept shaking his head at me. I couldn't put it down though.

'The Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold....

Anything written by Nicholas Sparks is a sure tearjerker!!!! Along with Notebook, Message in a bottle is emotional!

'I know this much is true' by Wally Lamb is not a classic tearjerker in the sense, but it made me cry....

Beach Music by Pat Conroy made me cry a bunch of times...a little on the long side though.

Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas. I didn't cry, but EVERY other person I know who read it did.

I have to second Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. I read it a year and a half ago, and FH still makes fun of me for bawling through it.

The other thing about thatbook...is there a life lesson in there called the lesson of the five balls...I have been known to be a workaholic...the five balls certainly has been changing me of that.

My review

Ok, well in just under one week (6 days to be exact), I finished reading both The Lovely Bones and Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. Ok, here goes my reviews.

The Lovely Bones, did nothing for me. I don't know why. I think it was very sad that she was killed and how her family suffered, but I just didn't shed one tear. Also some of the sentences I had to read over twice and I do see myself as an intelligent person, but this book was slightly diffucult to understand.

This morning on the LIRR, I finished Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas and I was trying so hard not to cry. It didn't work and I was embarrased! That one hit me--hard! And for James Patterson? I was very impressed! For all you beautiful mothers out there, if you haven't read this one yet, read it. It was beautifully written and eloquently expressed the deep, deep love a mother has for her child!

That's it! :)

Thanks for the review. My BF had a baby 4 months ago (I am going to be the Godmother!). I will buy Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas for her.
