Tech help....pic format

How do you change pics from bmp format to gif or jpeg format?? I want to add an avatar pic and can't change my files from bmb to gif/jpeg!!!

Ya think w/ a FI who is a computer tech that I'd know this but when he starts talking techie mumbo jumbo i shut down!!!

open up the picture that you want to be the jpg/gif - and then 'save as' - in that box there should be an option for you to change the format of the picture

it is probably towards the bottom in a pull-bar menu!!!
