Technical Question RE: inviting a 'guest'/someone's significant other

This isn't about my wedding, I'll explain after.

Imagine if you can:

Your first cousin is getting married in Maine - hometown for his fiance, but most of his family will be traveling there. Guest list of about 100-150. You're 18 and in a relationship for 2 years. Are you pisssed that you're not invited 'with guest?'

You're not super close with your cousin, but his Father is basically your favorite uncle and you see the cousins on holidays once in a while, maybe once a year. You see your uncle more often and you have a good relationship with him.

What do you think?

***Ok so here's the story:
When I was 18 and with FH for 2 years, he wasn't invited to this wedding and I had a fit and a half! My mom spoke to my uncle and they agreed to invite him. At that point, FH didn't want to go if they had to 'agree' to invite him. I didn't blame him.

I've just been thinking about it lately, like was I out of line for slipping out?? I guess not!!
Thanks Ladies!!

I would've wanted to be invited with guest, but at 18 I was poor so I probably wouldn't have taken anyone anyway.

Honestly? I'd be P*SSED! If I wasn't close I wouldn't be invited to the wedding. and if I'm in a relationship for 2 years that means I'm in a steady relationship that might be going somewhere. If I'm like 18 or 19 and it's just a relationship that's boyfriend and girlfriend and we aren't moving in together anytime soon and we're just dating with no intension of eventually getting engaged, then I'd probably looked passed it but if I was where I am now and FH and I were just dating, I'd be REALLY upset.

i would be pissed. if its my family then they would obv know I am in a 2 year relationship. I would think its rude not to be invited with that person.

Normally I would say yes... but if I am 18 and Ihave to travel for this wedding, I would not be.

if i were you, i'd be annoyed that my boyfriend wasn't invited BUT if i (as a bride right now) had an 18 year old cousin who was in a 2 year relationship, i could understand not inviting her bf (most 18 year olds don't end up getting married to their boyfriends)

so i'm 50/50 on this one

I know, that's what got me thinking about it. Oh well. I can't believe that was more than 8 years ago!!!

thats a tough one. my cousin is gonna be 17 by my wedding and i know (from facebook only, sad isn't it?) that he's been on and off with a girl. I'd love to give him the option. I am going to base it on how many No's I get. I have to have a minimum of 100 people and my A list shows 136.

I would not invite an 18 year old with the BF unless the 18 year old was living on their own with the bf.

I think if you are still in high school the BF does not need to be invited.

I was a freshman in college.
