Re: Teeth
I just saw on the news this morning that some of the over the counter whiteners are better and much cheaper than the dentist.

Re: Teeth
I've used the white strips and I love them. You can even use two boxes straight if you want to go all out, they say it's alright in the directions. They're about $30 each box, which is a whole lot cheaper than any dentist whitening.

Re: Teeth
I also used Crest Whitening Strips..target sells them for $22, which is a lot, but cheaper then going to the dentist. and the bleaching done by the dentist can strip the enamel off your teeth. and i def noticed a difference after a few days.

I don't know how long it lasts, but the box says to use them once a year. so wait until like 3-4 weeks before the wedding then use them.

Re: Teeth
I was ready to get my teeth bleached. I had an appointment and everything. The dentist then told me that I am not a good candidate for bleaching. I had braces 3 times and she told me I have tooth enamel damage. If I bleached my teeth, she said the damage spots would show up more. I am upset. If I get cosmetic work done it is going to cost me a fortune. I really only notice it though...Thank God!

Re: Teeth
I used the strips about 1 year ago, and I still get comments all the time about how white my teeth look... I'd defintely go with the strips over bleaching... cheaper and not as damaging!!

Re: Teeth
I am using Opalesence which you can only get from your dentist. However it is done at home. And yes I see a bit of a difference. It costs $500 though. And more to have it done in the office.

Re: Teeth
The over the counter whiteners work, but they are temporary. If you drink red wine, coffee, tea or dark juices or if you smoke it will basically erase the whitening that you have just done because it really does not penetrate the enamel. The bleaching kits that you can get from you dentist are a lot more money ranging from about $400 to $600 for the upper and lower tray and they give most people excellent results. These whitening products penetrate the enamel they will give you dramatic results and last longer. The only reason why I know this stuff is because I am a dental hygienist.

Re: Teeth
i had mine professionally cleaned because my front two teeth are bonded. crest white strips will not work on bonded teeth. I paid $500 to whiten my teeth and once they were whitened i had my dentist match the bonding to the new color. a pain to go through but it was worth every penny.
