Teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening?

Has anyone ever gotten their teeth whitened at the dentist? I'm trying to decide how I want to spend the bonus that I got from work, and I'm thinking about getting my teeth whitened.
If you got it done, did it make a big difference? How much did it cost? How long did it last?

I would try the Crest White Strips before you try bleaching. You can spend your $ on something else. I used the strips a year ago and my teeth are still very white.

It cost me about $300 and did make a difference..maybe 3 or 4 shades whiter..my family noticed right away. But...i don't recommend it for anyone with sensitive teeth/gums...the procedure was really hard for me to get through and they had to stop before the last 15 minute round. I guess i have super sensitive teeth though, cause other people haven't experienced that. I remember it was hard to drink anything cold or hot for a while, and my teeth hurt.

I would say to try crest whitestrips....many dentists recommend that..they can do just as good of a job for a lot less money, just takes a little longer. Good luck :)

Also, my dentist asked me if I had my teeth whitened somewhere else so they must be good.

I paid 400 for opalesce(sp?) at my dentist, my teeth stayed pearly white for 4 years...I am going to do a week long touch up next week before my cruise

I got mine whitened. It cost me $200..at Broadway Dental by Broadway mall. It definitely lightened my teeth a few shades lighter and people noticed.

Negative - after the procedure, my teeth were very sensitive. I must have taken 10 advil that day. The next day, the pain was gone.

Would I do it again, probably, yes...

The strips are great. I use Rembrant toothpaste to keep it up.

I have to agree on the Crest Whitestrips Premium edition...I just did them a month ago & they are still white...FH got his done professionally after some work on his teeth & the dentist gave him the 'dentist' edition of the Premium whitestrips...

I used the Vivid White Toothpaste by crest to upkeep them!

I believe the Premium Crest strips are on sale in either Target or CVS this week

Re: Teeth whitening?

i got mine whitened at my dentist for $500.

I cant use crest strips because I have porcelin veneers for my two front teeth- (when i was in 3rd grade I was playing that red rover game and hit my mouth on a gate and broke my two front teeth) they dont change color.

before my wedding, I had my teeth professionalyl whitened and then when it was done, I had my veneers redone to match the new color! a lot of work but worth the $$. I am going to go back for a touch up soon..
