Re: Teeth whitening?
I have used crest white strips for years! They work well but make teeth sensitive. I know zoom and other procedures work really good too! They are just

I am in the process of using the Listerine strips. I see a small difference and still have a few days to go (it takes 2 wks).

Re: Teeth whitening?
last week when i took my grandma to the dentist i saw this thing for the zoom procedure for teeth whitening. I asked the lady about it and you do it one time and its $300 so i am definitely doing it for that price. I am going to wait until about a month before the wedding. It whitens it about 8 shades lighter
I am definitely going to. I have an appointment in April at the dentist to have my trays made. This is my feeling.......nothing improves beauty like a white smile! Your hair and makeup can look magnificent, but if you have stained teeth....it can ruin your entire look. I am a little OCD about white teeth though!

Re: Teeth whitening?
Most of them make your teeth sensitive though...so if you can't handle the sensitivity, it might bother you a lot! I think it depends on the results you want. If you want to go dramatic, I would recommend going to the dentist. If you just want to maintain or get a shade lighter or so....I would just do the white strips. It's cheaper and they definitely work. I wouldn't do any bleaching too close to your wedding though. My teeth were extremely sensitive when i first did them. It takes about 2 weeks for it to subside so I would make sure you plan wisely for it! :) Happy Pearly Whitening!

i agree, i did the strips and my teeth and gums were very sensitive so i stopped right away. It was uncomfortable for me. I also think probably depends on what strips you use

Re: Teeth whitening?
I did bright smile. My teeth weren't that yellow and I really didn't see that much of a difference. For the price and the annoyance I probably wouldn't do it again. For those thinking about doing it, it might be worth using the guide at the dentist to see how yellow your teeth are and see if you would get enough of a difference. As for the actual 1 hour in the chair, it was long but not painful. My teeth were pretty senstive for the next 2 days but are back to normal now.

i had thought about it but thought it'd be very expensive to do. But i happened to take my grandmother last week and while waiting for her they had this poster of the zoom procedure so just decided to ask about it. When she told me the price i was pleasantly surprised and asked when i should schedule it for. So ill definitely go in april

yeah but for procedures done everywhere the price should be standard since its the same product. Good for you to get it for free though

Re: Teeth whitening?
I thought any of the topical treatments, OTC or from a dentist, might make your teeth sensitive because they all use the same ingredient. The hydrogen peroxide whitens teeth but also makes them sensitive.
My dentist told me that that the prescribed topical treatments use a higher concentration of it, causing a higher risk of sensitivity. But the doc will also be able to prescribe a numbing agent that reduces that sensation. Mine recommended using the OTC treatments first, and if I was unsatisfied with them, to proceed to treatments with him.
I used Crest WhiteStrips and was satisfied. I had to space out the applications because of the sensitivity, though. Instead of two strips every day, I had to do one strip a day, sometimes one every other day.
The Zoom procedure might be different for sensitivity because it's a laser, right?
