Teeth Whitening?

Teeth Whitening?

I have been going tanning twice a week and will until the wedding, but a friend said I should also have my teeth whitened professionally? Does it make a difference? How much will it cost? Has anyone done it?

Re: Teeth Whitening?

try doing a search. there are a number of posts about teeth whitening.

my story: i used white strips for a while. they whitened some what. about $25 for a box that lasts two weeks.

then i went to my dentist and paid over $300 for professional whitening. i think it worked well. i used it up until the wedding, then stopped for a month, and have started using it again.

note that most of the whitening products will make your teeth and gums sore and sensitive to cold. that's normal and temporary...

Marisa - check this out:

BriteSmile

it's a one hour laser session that makes your teeth really white.

I'm getting it done asap. But it can be $300-$500

Re: Teeth Whitening?

I got the molds made & have the teeth whitening gel. I've only used it a few times for a couple of hours each and I think it made a difference. It does irritate your gums a little but it goes away.

My dentist was offering it free with a check up & xray so I thought I would give it a try.

(FYI - Plaza Dental in Farmingdale by Home Depot).

My fellow 9/20 bride! I just bought Crest White Strips and I will do them until the wedding. How are you doing? Do you have a lot more to do? I'm feeling overwhelmed right now!!

Re: Teeth Whitening?

I also had the modls made at the dentist and use the gel.
I now use Rembrandt gel in them and it takes slightly longer but it doesn't make my teeth hurt like the gel i got from the dentist.

I'd use one of the kits in the drug store.
They'll do the same thing but will take a bit longer.
Either way - you can have white teeth in a few weeks.

I used the crest Night Effects for the two weeks - saw a slight but not great difference. They didnt bother my gums at all and I really want to continue to do it... My wedding is still 10 months away so I think will do it every month starting in January maybe- what do you think of that?

My hairdresser went to Britesmiles and his teeth looked great. I am planning on doing it. I could not believe how white they were.

i use the daywhite stuff from the dentist. its a gel that you put in a mold & where for an hour everyday (i do two 1/2 hour sessions). it hurts like hell. but it works pretty well.

Re: Teeth Whitening?

this thread has such funny timing for me...i just went to the dentist today and got my whitening kit! he said it will take 7-10 days and my teeth will stay white for years. apparently, it is also much better for your teeth than the laser. it is called rembrandt. my dentist is in queens if you are interested...it is called the glenridge dental center...they are FANTASTIC and very affordable

Re: Teeth Whitening?

My dentist charges $450.00 and I'm still thinking about doing it.

I'm going to start trying the Crest whitestrips first to see if I'm pleased with the results. When I asked a similiar question a few months ago many of the girls had had great results with the White strips.

Good luck with the sparkly

If youre too tan and get your teeth too white, it may actually look worse...
My FIs cousin got married in July... It wasnt the bride who looked like this but the groom.. His skin was sooooo Dark and his teeth were like electric white.. They looked like chicklets!!!!!! I am gonna start the strips soon... I just dont want to look like a neon sign! (JMO though)

Re: Teeth Whitening?

I just started using the Crest whitening strips yesterday and I can see a slight difference already. I've heard good things about them. I was going to try them now and then before my wedding which is still 12 months away!
