Tell me about your shower PLEASE!

Tell me about your shower PLEASE!

If you're recently married and had a shower I need to know about it!!

I'm MOH and planning a shower this spring. First I want to make sure it's reasonably priced (wedding party is on a TIGHT budget as well at brides family). Second it has to be near Manhattan, Queens, or the Bronx as guests will be coming from all locations.

I'm looking for a place that is pretty, bright and airey to throw a lunch time party. I think a luncheon would ease the budget constraints too. Italian, American, or spanish food are great.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

I had mine at Alice's Tea Cup in NYC. There are several locations and all are identical. The private rooms are different size and you would need to call the restaurant to know which location has the best size room for your party.

They serve scones and sandwiches and countless tea. It's a super cute place!

I had mine at Pappazio on Bell Boulevard in Bayside. They only open for private parties during the afternoon on the weekends so you have the entire restaurant to yourself. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. Best of all, it's easily accessable from all points via the LIRR Bayside station.

I had my shower at Joe Abbraciamento's in Rego Park/Middle Village Queens. Easily accessible from the LIE and Grand Central.

I have also had several wedding type events at Roma View and Carosello's both in Howard Beach, accessible from the Southern State/Belt Parkway. Matteo's is also great and in Howard Beach and serves family style.

There is also Portofino in Forest Hills, which also has tons of restaurants.

I have to also add that all the places I mentioned above are mostly Italian American Cuisine.

Alices has a room and hourly fee depending on when you have the shower.. its super cute though but can get pricey I was looking into this for my sister's baby shower

Mine was held at Davenport Press in Mineola.

Mine was at Il Nocello in Whitestone- my sister said it was really reasonable and they let them bring in their own wine so that helped the price a lot. They have a separate upstairs room for parties.

Fun things for during the shower- there is a candle poem which is really nice and there is also a funny cleaning poem- if you google them they should come up

I had mine Pappazio on Bell Boulevard in Bayside too. It was nice because we had the whole restaurant to ourselves but, I am not sure on the price.
