Tell me how to spend my bonus...

so I just figured out what my roundabout bonus is going to be this year and it's a nice chunk o' change.

Now I'm torn about what to do with it and I figure I'd get your opinions.

Here are my options:

1) Directly into the wedding fund

2) Directly into the 'house-after-the-wedding' fund

3) Pay it towards my lingering credit card debt

4) Put it on the side for the trip to Europe next summer for FH's cousin's wedding.

5) a combo of any of the above.

What do you girls think I should do? And yes I am being a good girl and not spending a dime on stuff for myself that I don't really need.

combination of 'house after the wedding fund' and $$ for Fh's cousin's wedding...

credit card debt!!!!!!!!! you dont want any of that!! its harder to get a house with debt try and get rid of alllll of it!!!!!!

My answer isn't fun - I'd say pay off the debt. It'll be worth it in the long run- and make buying a house much easier.

crap, I didn't see the debt!

I would also say pay down debt. That way you won't be paying interest and can save for the house faster since you won't be making monthly payments.

And LIzzie is right. They look at your and FH's debt to income ratio when you apply for a loan and having little to no debt will be great for your credit score!

Credit Card Debt!!! Pay it off so you dont have to pay out of your rear for intrest!!!

I chose a combo of credit card debt and after the wedding house. Just because I only DREAM about putting some kind of dent in my credit card debt that if I get a bonus this year, that is most likely where 100% of it is going. (Well, I may treat myself to something too, not gonna lie.)

Congrats on the bonus. Unfortunately i voted credit card debt...but only bc there was no option for 'buy Amy boots'

I would put at least some of it towards your debt - because when you want to get a house, you will get a better mortgage and so on if you have less debt

Ummmm i almost posted a topic just for this. Hahah i was on the phone w my mom who was at marshalls and i was trying to get her to buy me boots hahhaha

babies = money. pay off that debt to eliminate stress in your marriage, raising children and lifetime w/ FH.
