Tell me if this makes any sense...

Tell me if this makes any sense...

My sister started seeing this guy. He is really, really, nice and totally different from her usual line of guys. I love this kid.

Anyway, so she tells me she has a hard time deciding whether or not to make it 'official' because she claims he is too clingy and she still has feelings for her doucher of an ex (the drug dealer/abuser). WHY, I dunno.

Well, in my opinion and from what I see, he's probably clingy because I feel she's kinda playing him. He buys her things, drives her to work, PRACTICALLY kisses her feet and adores the ground she walks on.

Is my sister an idiot? And do you think the clingy-ness is because he doesn't have an answer as to what is going on with them?

I stay out of it. I told her simply that she shouldn't let the good one's go and told her my feelings on why he could be clingy. She shrugged it off, so at this point I don't care. I just have nothing to say when she calls and tells me she runs into her ex at the mall where she works.

I have to keep reminding myself she's 21 and her attitude is as though she never left high school. I just worry about her from all the drama she pulled since she broke up with her ex.

Whether it's a mistake to take this guy for granted or not, it's one she's going to have to make on her own to learn from. All you can do is be there for her.

unfortunately, you can't decide who you love ... if she's not over her ex, then she probably shouldn't be official with this guy. she will figure out what she wants in time ....

sadly, if you push her towards the right answer, she'll probably do the opposite so just let her get there on her own

It makes sense in a way. At that age (mentally) part of her probably enjoys the drama and 'excitement' that her ex brought.

I would just suggest to her to not make it official until she's ready. Calling this new guy her bf might freak her out.

That's what I kind of figured. I just don't know how to answer her when she talks to me about it. I told her she shouldn't give mixed signals.

She is kinda young to know what's good for her. At her age, I was attracted to 'exciting' people and not necessarily the 'nice' guys.
