OK, so I found the wedding shoes of my dreams!! I am a total shoe freak ( as I know most of us are) and I'm kinds bummed. I was at Stuart Weitzman in the city and found a pair of 21/2 inch heel pumps...covered in Swarovski Crystals!! They are truly amazing! Evidently, they custom make these shoes to fit you and you can have the crystals put on any way you like. Sounds fabulous so far, right? Anyway, they would be perfect for my dress and I love love love them. But of course the price for these shoes are obscene! Now I know I will absolutely be wearing them whatever chance I get, but it's just not practical. So here's the crazy part - In your opinion, do you think I would be able to make my own version of these shoes if i bought inexpensive plain satin heels and somehow glued crystals on them? or do you think they would be falling apart by the time I get to the RH? Has anyone heard of someone trying this? lol Any suggestions for the unhappy barefoot bride?

Hmmmm. . .this is quite a stretch , DIY Shoes ?
I must say, i was thinking about doing the same with my dream shoes that they dont even carry in my size, and cant find them anywhere.
You should post a pic of your shoes online so that we can see what they look like.
I say it all depends on the type of work you gotta pull off.
Also remember, no one really sees your shoes, but if you spend hours crafting your own, I know you'll make sure every guest gets a peek.
Good Luck Hun !

I think its possible. They make glue to adhere crystals and stuff to shirts, so why not do the shoes. Go for it!

I don't think it's impossible... Why not try a practice run? Get a pair of inexpensive shoes that are similar in material to the wedding ones you like and practice putting the crystals on those.... then put the shoes to use to see what kind of beating they can take.... then you'll know if it's practical for your wedding...

i think that's a great idea and definitely worth a try! I am actually thinking of doing something similar with a plain ivory evening bag I have. I want to try to add some crystals or beading to it to make it look dressier. Good luck and please post pics of how they come out!
