tell me to calm down...

Ok so how can you tell me to calm down. that is the one thing that irritates me... especially when i wasn't even getting worked up. Ok so this is what happened... i asked my bridesmaid when she was going to order her dress. Now let me give you the background... my MOH ordered her dress 1 month ago and the order cant be put through untill other bridesmaid have placed the order. It took a total of 10 min just to be measure you dont even have to change clothes. I have told my wonderful bridesmaid this and i said how about we go Tues... 'no i have to go dancing that night'
how about wed.. 'no i am working' keep in mind that we both work together as RN and work a total of 3 days a week. so then i said im sure thurs is out because you need to sleep the day away so how about fri since we are both off... 'no i need to nap because i am going ice skating that night in the city' So how would you feel? i feel like my wedding is important to anybody and that anything i do need done is an inconvience and people wonder why i dont want to ask for help. My MOH is doing the best she can and her sister is getting married in oct and yet she is there to help me 100% sorry i guess im over reacting i need to calm down. lol

Re: tell me to calm down...

You're wedding is in May. So you still have time (calm down, LOL), as long as the dresses are NOT being discontinued you'll be fine until mid January. My girls gave me HUGE DEAL about this too! Explain to her, in January, (or say beginning of Jan), that these dresses need to be ordered and that she is the only 1 who hasn't ordered yet and explain that they all need to be ordered at the same time because if the DYE and what not, it all needs to be exact same dialac. . . Im sure maybe her next excuse will be XMAS bills in Jan. And if she doesnt go in January, I would tell her then she cant be a BM if she doesnt order the dress. . . . Thats what it comes down to. Not everyones wedding is the most important thing, but when u have someone inthe BP, the BM MUST take into concern how the Bride feels and what needs to be done!

In the meantime, call the salon where u r buying the dresses, and confirm that the dresses are not being discontinued. You will def be ok til Janaury, though.

try not to get upset. ur being more than patient with this girl. If i was u i would tell her if she doesn't order her dress by the end of the month she can't be in it. tell her the dresses take at least 4 months to come in and thats why she needs to do it by the end of the month.

i would be ok with waiting untill after the holidays. but the dress salon already exteneded it to the 3 week of decemeber. the dress place doesnt want to have any issues because the factory that makes them shuts down for the holidays and they usually have a long lead time. ill wait for perfection but i just need the help of my girls.

Let her know it HAS to be ordered by X date and then leave it up to her. If she doesn't order it or get back to you, then I'd count her out. Obviously, she is not making the effort. I'm sure there will be more issues down the line if this is now. JMHO.

Re: tell me to calm down...

It must be the day.....I got married May 5th last year, and had the same situation with one of my girls. Everyone else had gone to get fitted except for her, I wanted the, ordered before Christmas, because the salon told me that the place that makes the dress shuts down in Jan., and to be sure I would get the dresses on time for the fittings I should place the order by the end of December, or I would have to pay for a rush-order. I told the BM if she didn't order the dress by the end of the month the order was going in without her and she could not be a BM. Long story shot, she ordered the dress and they came in 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding. I think it's time for you to get tough with her!
