So we go look at another apt. tonight....I figured, we might as well go look....

okay the ladies sons room was in our apt...
HOW IS THIS APPROPRIATE????

she wanted 1200 for this apt that was horrible...dont get me wrong, it was clean but the broker told me it was a 2 bedroom-

when u walked in, u had to walk down 3 steps-u walked into this room w/a 'kitchen' agianst the back wall and then there was this narrow hallway..where would u eat and put a couch/tv, i have no clue....

then the bedroom had a door leadin to the backyard??
there was a boiler room
small bathroom
and another door..so my mom asked whats that door? n she said...oh thast my sons room....

Jeanine, don't get discouraged...although the first appt sounds great, w/ utilities it will be quite steep, also do you truly need a 3 bedroom. I know FH & I looked for 3 full weekends & by the end were like this When we found our apt we knew as soon as we walked in that this was it.

We saw a place just like that. Was it in Centereach? Don't give up hope. I cried after we saw the place like that. But once we got home, I started calling other places. Within 1 hour we were standing in what became our apartment.

Move onto the next joint. Have you tried craigslist.org? I've always been successful w/it, and we always list our available apartments on there and are also successful.

I would recm'd nixxing the real estate agent too.

Oh, and off on a tangent - are you looking for a one bedroom or more? I noticed yesterday you looked into the 3 bedroom for $1400 (average price for a 3 bedroom, 8.5room) and today a 2 bedroom at $1200.
