They say most jewelers cannot tell the difference between moissanite and a diamond. Incase you don't know, it's a lab created gem that is the closest thing to a diamond. Colorless and flawless and a hardness of 9.5 (diamonds are a ten). Does anyone own this and if so, what do you think of it? I ask this because I LOVE LOVE LOVE my engagement ring, but being the overly indulged brat that I am, I really would love an emerald shaped ring, but I am SOOOOO attached to the one I have now, I just like to change it up every now and then. So I thought of maybe getting a moissanite ring to wear when I feel like it. Ok, now I feel cheesey......

my friend's sister got one to save $$ and use the ring $ for other things...it is very pretty and sparkly i am not sure about pricing etc.

to answer your question, a moissanite is just a glorfied cz w/ a very $$$ price tag. from what i have read, the more realstic stones are those in the smaller size. the larger cut stones tend to give off a green tint.
Thanks for the info. I spoke to JT about it and he thinks if I really want another ring, to just get a real diamond, but maybe not as good as the one I have now so it will be a little cheaper. If I buy a loose stone, it won't be so bad. Maybe for our first anniversary or something.
