Today I get an email, from a vendor (who shall remain nameless) saying to call him to make an appointment for this week or next week. I emailed him saying 'we spoke last week and made an appt for Monday' needless to say he responds saying on thanks Bob (not real name) just told me you made an appt. ummm well I felt like saying I spoke to you personally and made the appt I didn't speak to bob. I just left it as is and was kinda annoyed. This is the second time with two totally different types of vendors people have screwed up my appointments. It just really annoys me. I'm so organized and keep two (yes two) datebooks. Part off is so annoyed I want to cancel my appointment because 1- he lied an blamed his mistake on someone else 2- obviously doesn't know how to keep track of appointments and if I can trust you to write down my appointment how can I trust you with thousands of dollars of my money?!
Am I overreacting here? I just feel like this wedding thing is a business and now i have run into two scenarios where people don't keep track of/show up to appointments. It's really pi$$ing me off lol

Are they a vendor that you REALLY wanted to see!?

Honestly I don't even know. I've just heard their name passed around on here a bunch of times. I looked online and seemed to like what they offer. It just annoyed me. I feel it was very unprofessional.

Everybody makes mistakes (am I the only one who sings Hannah Montana when I say this?) I say go to the meeting, if they're unorganized, you'll know!! Could have just been an off day!

I called a company yesterday who then returned my call. When I was scheduling an appointment, she asked for my phone number. SHE JUST DIALED IT!!! I kinda laughed it off. They weren't a company I really wanted to see, and had some not so great reviews here and on some other sites, so I decided to cancel. If their receptionist couldn't get her stuff together to figure out that she had called me, then I don't necessarily trust that their photogs will get their stuff together and do what I need done.
I wouldn't stress too much til after the appointment. But if you wouldn't mind, can you share with me what vendor it is? Just wondering if it's the same one. LOL

I had something similar happen! FH and I met with a vendor in a very impromptu manner and weren't even really considering this vendor. We physically met with them and spoke with them for an hour, they gave us quotes and the whole nine yards. Three days later I get an email from the vendor introducing their company and 'as a preferred vendor' for my venue, they would love it if I would book and appointment to meet them.
Umm... I met with you already!
Either way I'm not using them and have booked with someone else.

I had something similar happen. I scheduled a popular DJ company (that I'm not naming). They had 2 locations so I made sure to stress the location I wanted as the other one was over an hour away. I took my parents and FH out to meet with them. We get to their studio and they were CLOSED! Lights out doors locked closed. I called them and they were open at the other location and told me they had no record of the appointment! It was the same woman I spoke with to make the appointment btw. In their defense, she told me to come to the other location (over an hour away). When I told her I couldn't make the trip out there, so offered to schedule another one and they would 'make it up to me.'
Needless to say I didn't book. I didn't even make another appointment. I felt the same way as you. If you can't keep my appointment and you don't even have my money yet, I don't really trust you on my wedding day!

That would really annoy me too. I probably wouldn't waste my time. There is a certain way of conducting business and being organized is a crucial part (not to mention he lied)! It would probably be in the back of my head the whole time wanting to double and triple check everything on their end. But, this is coming from someone who didn't book with a venue because they made us wait 10-15 minutes (without offering us anything to drink) when we had an appointment and there was no one else in the place!
If its someone you don't think you could replace talent wise I guess I would consider it. But the organized side of me probably would go crazy!

No you're right in how you feel. I probably wouldn't want to do business with them either. How can I trust you with my day when you can't get something simple as my appointment right? To me it's a bad sign..

Im one of those people that once I get a 'vibe' I go with my gut. That kind of mistake would rub me the wrong way and I wouldn't want to do business with them either. Im very big on first impressions. Companies thay harass me over the phone or email I will not even give them the time of day.

i totally agree...i feel like any company trying to get your business especially for a wedding, which is a big expense, they should be 100% totally professional. if it wasnt a vendor i wasnt crazy about i would cancel

The only minor issue I had was with a photographer who kept pushing our appointment further and further away. But I totally agree, this wedding stuff is way more of a business than I originally though!

I REALLY want to know who the vendor is!
I agree though, once I sense any unprofessionalism, I'm over them.

This is really funny!
But I would probably just go. I feel like going doesn't hurt you at all. But I totally understand how you feel. My former (as of tomorrow night!) boss is like this. Just drives me nuts!
I had a similar issue with a florist that I posted about. She emailed me saying she already spoke with me and hasn't heard back from me. She was totally unprofessional in her emails. Definitely a thumbs down.

well the saga continued. I was going to keep the appt until I received a confirmation 3 hours before my appt that my appt was with 'Bob'. What the F! I didnt make the appt with Bob. Screw it. They just rubbed me the wrong way. On to the next vendor.
