Tell your experience .. Have you ever been put on the spot...???
I went to get my hair done on Thursday... Same beautician for 13 yrs and she happens to be one of my closest friends who is also a BM... So she was doing someone's hair and the girl was washing mine.. It was pretty empty , so we were all talking with eachother. I was asking her, if her and her hubby will be staying at the hotel the night of the wedding ...etc... then she says to the girl washing my hair (who has been washing my hair for a good 5-6 yrs) OH JULIA, you can ride with us out to her wedding!
I was like, YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my, I didn't invite JULIA.. THen my beautician goes, she is invited right? I was like UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......
Then I said, I haven't invited her, were pretty much filled , but if she wants to come alone she I can possibly mak eit happen. SHe has a Fiance, so they were like, no that's no fun.. So I got out of that one, and was like.. OH MY.....
It's one thing when ur family ask if so and so is invited but , when it's right infront of the person! Holy Crap!!!

I had someone at my job ASK if he could come!!! I straight out said no.....because although I work with many people at my job, I kept invites to only my dept otherwise it would get out of hand. I explained that to him but I dont think he understood. I think he just wanted the free booze anyway!

Re: Tell your experience .. Have you ever been put on the spot...???
My future Mother In Law assumed that she would be invited to my sister's wedding. That seemed odd to me to make such an assumption...especially since my parents were not invited to her daughters wedding...(my fiance and I were engaged prior to his sisters wedding). I had to explain to her that since my fiance and I had just had a baby we really need her to watch our son the day of the wedding. (my sister was married this past Jan...and my son was born 15 weeks early, so I didn't want to take him out in public...the dr.'s told us to wait until the spring weather breaks before going out in public with him) My future MIL thought that I would find someone else to watch the baby, so that she could attend the wedding. I had to explain to her that I don't want to leave my baby with just anyone, especially since he had just been taken off of oxygen. I also mentioned that all the other people I would trust to stay with the baby are in my family and will be attending the wedding. After I made that point she seemed to realize that my fiance and I wouldn't be able to go to the wedding if she didn't stay with our son.

It happened to my sister for my wedding. She has some friends that were close at one point but no longer are. My sister's friend mom called in and was talking to my sister about different things. At the end of the conversation, the lady said 'We will see each other soon. Your sister's wedding is coming up'. They don't know the exact date that I'm getting married. My sister answered: 'It is my sister's wedding and she is taking care of all that.' Sorry for the lady and her family. They are not getting invited. My sister and I laughed at the nerve some people have to assume or to invite themselves. If I was put on the spot, I'd tell them that I'd love to have them at my wedding but unfortunately we already have the amount of guests we can accomodate at our reception place.

a friend at work told me that when her daughter sent out her invitations she specifically wrote on each invite the names of the persons she was inviting.
when she got back the RSVP's one of the guests sent back the reception card indicating that she was coming with 8 people. The orginal invite was for a married couple. When my friend called to find out who these other 6 people were...the guest told her that they are her neighbors that they met once 10 years ago.
now why on Earth would you think that its ok to bring 6 non invited people to a wedding?

i know I got crap like that sort of. Well Christmas Eve my FH's grandma pulled me aside and told me that FH's cousin has been dating this guy and that it is serious, and can we maybe fit him into the wedding. I told her that FH and I would talk about it. I am so glad that his grandma had done that because lo and behold my FMIL decided to make a big deal of it. The boyfriend must have mentioned it the FMIL and she goes oh 'Kevin and Darcy' really loud like. 'Rich wants to know if he can go to the wedding' Well i was used to her being rude like that, she was trying to prove something like usual, so I was calm and had him come over to talk to me. He was cool about it.

I don't like to pass judegment...but my girlfried said that they are from the south...and they don't do that fancy crazy expensive weddings like we do....they usually put a tent up in the back yard, roast a big, hire a band...with banjo and just invite anyone they encounter....they just have a different way of doing things

One of my friends told me that whenever she has to fill in a response card, if it says 'number attending' she puts 38, then waits for the inevitable phone call from the bride to be!!!!! It's funny considering that this is a friend who does not mind being invited alone and usually goes with no date, just because she thinks it's more fun!
