This is a great thread! I am recently engaged and starting to look at reception sites. Anyone planning a temple reception? I am trying to get an idea of price... they are sooo expensive!

Do you mean for a kosher reception, or just because you'd like to get married in a specific temple? There's a Jewish Brides thead over here somewhere. Welcome!
I don't have any temples in my head right now, but Huntington Townhouse does Glatt kosher, and Crystal Plaza I hear is also kosher.

Congrats and welcome! I am having a temple wedding at East Meadow Jewish Center. You're right, they do get to be expensive. EMJC was one of the more reasonable ones I looked at. I will FM you with prices once I find where I have them written down. My room is a bit of a mess and I can't find anything right now! If I forget to FM you, you can FM me and remind me! I also looked at Oceanside, Sephardic Temple of Cedarhurst, Hewlett-East Rockaway, Jericho, and Shelter Rock.

I know you can get a good deal at Temple Beth Shalom in Smithtown. ANd the food is EXCELLENT!!!

Thank you all for your replies. We just looked at Temple Emannuel in Great Neck over the weekend and I was shocked at how reasonable they were. This site is great... I'm sure I will be posting more questions everyday :)

I am also gettingg married at EMJC. They are President Caterers. They are also Ocenside Jewish Center. My wedding is coming up very soon so feel free to FM me with any q's you might have.

I went to a wedding at Oceanside Jewish Center...it was a wonderful wedding. I think its the same caterer as East Meader JC.
There is also Shelter Rock Jewish Center and Woodbury Jewish Center...I have heard great things about both places...they may be pricey though.
