Re: Temporary hair color...
well there's semi-permanents. these tend to last roughly 3 months. I've always loved Loreal's ColorSpa (the browns were never red on me) and Clairol's Natural Instincts was pretty good.

Semi permanents work but mainly for lighter hair. I have naturally BLACK hair and it would never take. I buy the special permanent ones by Nutrise-they can lighten your hair up to 3 shades and its not overly harsh BUT its not semi-permanent. VERY permanent.

Clairol makes one called Loving Care. it's temporary and lasts 10-12 washes.

Re: Temporary hair color...
I've done semi-permanent dye that washes out after a few months. I would recommend getting it done at a salon, they'll match it up better. I always tend to get something too dark from the store and then my hair looks black. My stylist actually uses dark blonde to cover my gray and it blends in much better.
Even if you don't have gray, the stuff at a salon tends to work better than store bought dyes...I used to dye my hair different colors whenever I felt like a change and my hair ended up dry and orange.
