Hi...I was originally interested in a tent reception in my backyard since it's a beautiful yard. However once I started looking into it, the off-premise caterers alone were quite expensive coming out to around $140/pp with gratuity this was without actually linens, tables, chairs, additional staff, renting valet, bathrooms, lights, fans, putting in a dance floor and all the other little things you dont think about. We ended up calculating that a tent wedding is just as expensive if not more than some RH so we ended up going with a RH in the winter.
I hope this helps!! Don't let it discourage you though if this is what you really want, especially if you are hhaving a smaller wedding. I'm sure if you do your research you can find an off premise caterer for less.
