tent weddings in the hamptons

Ok, I may have a place to put the tent but i wanted to know what you guys thought about the price of hosting a wedding under a tent and what costs go into that. I know the tent obviously but i wanted to know how much it would probably run for about 175 people. Thanks for any help

not sure on how much it would cost....but you would probably incur cost for table and chair rentals, bartender, food, band/dj, depending if you want to rent silverware or just use plastic..
possibly someone erecting a dance floor, maybe port-a-potties

My cousin just had her reception at Bridgehampton Beach Club, because they are members...and they had a tent on the ground, with some small 6 seater tables, but they did a heavy heavy appetizer/cocktail reception, nothing sit-down or 5 course meal...they had a big table set up with my aunt cooked a ton of the finger food, 2 big hams, cold cuts platter, and a few other things....then the caterer had a girll goig with lamb, pork, philly cheesesteak wraps n the grill, steak, sausages, and they also ahd a raw bar with oysters, calms and shrmp...and some butler style pass around appetizers too...check with Watermill rentals and ask what they suggest as for as what you would need to rent to accomplish this party....

I have no idea how much my cousin paid, but it was GREAT!

If you want it to be fairly formal, you will wind up spending more than most catering halls would charge you. The tent itself isn't cheap and then you have to worry about heating or A/C depending what time fo year. You may want to consider having a floor laid out, at least for dancing, because if it rains before or during your wedding, the ground will be very muddy. If there are no bathrooms around, you will need to rent the nice port-a-potty trucks. You will then need to get a caterer (try to find one that provides their own china and linens) and the normal wedding stuff like band/dj, photo/video, dresses, ceremony music, officiants, etc... If you like the idea of a tent wedding, look into Crow's Nest, I believe they provide everything you would need and their prices are really reasonable.
