Re: Terrace on the park
I don't mean to burst your bubble or anything, but my experience with them wasn't too good. TOP was one of the first places the FH and I first visited when we got engaged. I live really close to them and seen the sign everytime I was on the grand central. I didn't like the fact that there is no food tasting at all, even after you sign. FH hated the slow elevators and the close proximity of the two rooms. They also wanted to charge us 1k just for the inside ceremony location. And what really sealed the deal is that sometimes it takes a while for them to replace the bulbs in the lights on the outside. Nevertheless, it's still your decision but just consider all the factors. hth

you don't get a choice of entree? wow that stinks. i like the fact that at my hall guests have a choice of 7... so someones bound to find something on there that they like at least!

I didn't like the room they gave us. They would curtain 1/2 off for cocktail hour of the same room.... I wasn't cool with that. We had no outside balcony either.
Maybe I am just spoiled cause the prom I went to there was in the ballrooms on the top with balconys/outdoor area. I just felt it was such a downgrade.

One thing I noticed was the tables. I know they will cover them, but I saw these things uncovered and they looked worn, wobbly (spelling?) and one of the tables had a small block of wood under one of the legs to level it.... I felt they needed some new tables!

There is a pretty recent review on TOP on the review board, I believe the girl had an excellent experience there. Not sure if you read it.

Re: Terrace on the park
Hey girls....I was just reading this post and I think it depends what package you get bc Im getting married at TOP in Nov and we have 5 or 6 choices (we make the choice btw)....also I agree once you see the penthouse you either have to use that room or go somewhere else lol this is how it was for me I just loved the room and went with it...but for those interested I'd look into the menu choices.
and it does suck that there are no tastings grrrr...friends of mine had just been there when I booked and I heard great things (its also the same owners as Venetian Yacht Club)
