TERRACE ON THE PARK

Hi ladies, I went to see a couple of halls and I think Terracr on the Park is absolutely stunning, but I don't know anybody who has been married there before. My wedding is pretty moderate, about 85 -100 guests. The room he showed us was the terrace suite, it wasn't even all dressed up and it was gorgeous, my fiance loved it(very shocking!) But I need some feedback, how was the bridal suite, service, bridal attendent etc???

It is a bit pricey but gorgeous.

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

I went to a wedding this past Saturday at Terrace on the park. I thought it was a really nice place with a beautiful view. The food everyone agreed was really good too. The only thing that was a pain was trying to get to the location. Quite a few people had said the same thing. You pass it by but it can be a little tricky. You have to be careful not to miss the turn . The only thing i heard some guests complain about was that they were serving the beer out of 40 oz bottles. So there were more people drinking hard liquor. I think that maybe that was the choice of the bride&groom to save some money. I think maybe they could have had bottled beer as an option, but just chose not to. But other than the beer situation I really liked it.

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

I went to a wedding here in May and it was great. Being from the area getting there was not an issue, but it was beautiful view, the room was gorgeous and the food was good too. They had bottled beer at this wedding & the dance floor was huge. I would say the only negative was there was a prom there that night & you had to wait a while for an elevator, but otherwise I would highly recommend it.

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

did you have a good time? We are going to book the terrace suite, is that the room you were in? There is a huge marble floor in that one? Do you know if the bride was satisfied with the service?

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

Hmmmm to be honest I'm not sure of the room, but yes it did have an awesome floor. I do recall the cocktail hour was up a step or two in a smaller room w/ carpet & then for the reception you stepped down. We had a view of Shea and part of the city.

My dad said there was another room though that was bigger(?--this room was BIG) & that you saw the skyline and the park (unisphere) beautifully.

The bride seemed to be quite happy (I'm friends with the groom since he was a kid).

FM me if you would like any other q's or through here also.

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

I've been to a few functions there but never a wedding. I thought the food and service was very good. I know the room you are talking about and it is beautiful. My friend's sister is having her wedding there in the spring and she hasn't had any issues yet with her planning.

Good luck!

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

i too was at a wedding there back in may and everything was absolutely amazing! the views really stunned people and the food was excellent. i do believe we had bottled beer so no prob there. the only thing i think anyone said anything about was the elevator. since we were way up top (PH suite), there were only two elevators going up there. cocktail hour was downstairs inside / outside room (patio) and once it was over, everyone rushed to the elevator.. being that you could only have about 10 people in the elevator at a time... it took some people a good 20 minutes to get upstairs. i didnt complain one bit. the place was amazing so the wait didnt bother me. people will be taken by those views so will forget all about the wait i bet. if you love it, go for it!

Re: TERRACE ON THE PARK

I went to a wedding there in August of 02 and it is very nice. They had a room upstairs where they had the view of something the City or Queens, I can't remember.
The only thing I didn't like was that the appetizer was already sitting on the plates. I am sure if you don't want them to do that they will accomodate your needs.
