terrible story in the Post!
Oh God PLEASE don't let it be one of 'our' girls! In the Post today is a story of a wedding in LI over the weekend where the limo w. the family got a flat and was pulled off to the side of the road, and a family member driving drunk slammed into them. Unfortunately everybody was lost in the accident. It is such a sad sad story - and I can only pray that this didnt' affect any of our liweddings.com girls, and my heart goes out to that family whoever they are.PLEASE girls! Inspire people to spend the night! Or call cabs!!!

Re: terrible story in the Post!
it was somewhere near Dix Hills? I am not familiar w. the area. their tire blew out on some debris from an accident that happened earlier w. a tractor trailer or something - now that I read teh story closer, it seems that the driver was drinking and had relatives in his car that were killed. They were all coming from the wedding.

Wow, that is really sad, that's like the story about the LI couple who were both tragically killed by a couple of idiots who were street racing in LI...May God bless them and their families, my thoughts and prayers go out to them. Let's just remember we are ALL here for such a short amount of time and we should all live life to it's fullest, and when we get crazed with all of our wedding planning to stop and take a step back and remember what's important.

Evelyn, you are so right, when things like this happen, it shows us there are no guarantees and how much we should cherish our life and loved ones.

I have NO tolerance at ALL for driving while drinking. If ANY of your wedding guests are unable to drive please call cabs! Or if they insist on driving call the Police! Better to have someone arrested for DWI then go to a funeral!mrsmay31- how awful. I truly feel for you. I hope that you feel your Dad looking down on you during your day. It isn't the same , but I still hope you feel him.

Re: terrible story in the Post!
I work at Good Sam hospital and was there when they came in, just horrible. The driver was 18 and illegidly drinking, who got a flat tire and stopped in the middle of the LIE in dix hills getting rear-ended by a pick up truck. The trunk of the car was actually through to front seat!! His grandpa, 12 y/o sister were dead on the scene, the mother was 40 y/o and we tried to recusitate her but failed unfortunatley. The girlfriend (19y/o) had a terrible brain injury and is in ICU in critical condition but the driver is supposedly fine which wasnt sent to our hospital so i dont know much about it.just puts such a pit in my stomach, all the family was there in tuxes and gowns crying, it was so horrible to end such a beautiful happy occasion with. We ended up having to treat some of the family for anxiety and chest pain through the night, very scary and I hope everyone keeps it in mind for their own safety when their day comes.

tara thank you for your haunting words. We should all remember how easy it is to have one too many. I decided today to spend the extra grand for shuttle buses/town cars and the like. No amount of money is worth the risk.Welcome New Vendors
