Oh no!! I can't belive she hung on as long as she did without the feeding tube!
How cruel to starve someone to death! it would have been more humane to put her to sleep.

it is very sad how this poor girl has lived like the way she has for several years, but what the media doesnt tell you is that as the feeding tube was removed she was given pain killers so that she doesnt feel the pain. My moms an RN and she said they do this everyday and the patients do not suffer in pain, they are adminstered pain meds daily. May she finally rest in peace.

I hope the poor woman is finally at peace, and that her husband and family find peace and comfort.

Re: Terry Schiavo
I have been following this story for quite some time now. This breaks my heart. I wish her husband had at least allowed her family to be with her for her last moments. I know she is in good hands now, but this makes me very sad.

Re: Terry Schiavo
Everyone has a right to their own opionions....but I believe that its not up to any of us to pass judgement....there is no way of knowing how you would feel or react if you were in their situation. please believe me on this....My son was born 15 weeks early...my family is very lucky that our little guy is doing so well....but I had to watch as other parents in the NICU had to make extremly difficult decisions, regarding thier baby's care. And each family had to make the best decision for their situation. I believe that they only person who has a right to pass judgement is GOD!!!!

The whole situation is so very sad. I feel for all sides involved. I have also mentioned to FH that I would not want to have to rely on a tube or machines to live.

Re: Terry Schiavo
I feel very bad for her family- they have been through alot. My FH and I have discussed creating a living will because I wouldn't want there to be any questions about what I wanted. For me, if I was in that sort of condition I would not want my family to suffer and watch me like that.
ETA- I wouldn't want them to have to make any decisions.
