tessa girls...

if u did or are using her, how long did it take her to get back to you with quotes? And have any of you assembled the invites yourself with her? If so how much $ did that save you.

It all depends on how close your wedding is. I know some girls that are having their wedding towards the end of the year, so Tessa has them on a 'non-priority' list, regardless of when they booked with her. Just to give you an estimate...I booked with her the first week in January. About 3 weeks later, she emailed me a preliminary design. I wanted her to tweak a few things, so that took another week or two. Then, I went to the 'proof' list, which took about 2 weeks as well. After that, I went to the 'quote' list, which was another 2 weeks. I finally got my proof in the mail on Monday. So, figure 2 months to get the proof in the mail.

I will FM you the info regarding cutting and assembly fee.

I was using Tessa but, the whole process just wasn't for me... save yourself the time of waiting on her list and call Judi at a Bridal Paperie in Plainview, she is just phenominal and you actually get to touch and feel the work and come up with ideas with her her- I am soooo excited to be working with her.

You took the words right out of my mouth!! I was gonna use tessa too and then after waiting for months got my quote which was double what I wanted to pay. I went with Judi also, my invite proof is gorgeous, I can't stop looking at it!!! I can't wait to see the finished product!!! CALL JUDI!!

I was quoted $700 from Tessa only wanted to spent $300-350. Judi came within budget and I them!

Tessa is SO WORTH the wait!!!!! I just got my proof about a month ago after waiting a while, but soooooooo worth it!! Her invitations are gorgeous!!!!! I am very happy to be working with her.


With Tessa, you give her your budget and she works within your budget... if for some reason what you want is over your budget, she works with you in trying to bring the budget down.

I don't have a pic of mine, but this was the inspiration for mine. My girls are wearing black dresses with wine colored sashes so my invites reflect those colors. The design up top is different and my ribbon is a little thinner, but you get the idea!

great thread. I'm also curious about this. I def want pocketfolds and feel like Tessa will be way to much for me. I was thinking about doing them myself but i'm confused about sizes and all that stuff.

any additional about this Judi lady would be great!

Honestly if you tell Tessa what your looking to spend she will find a way to get you what you want within your budget. Or she will let you know up front that what you want costs more than she can provide you with BUT will give you other ideas of what she can do.

She gave me the best price FROM ANYONE and let me know honestly what I needed and didnt need and DIDNT look to rip me off! Shes been AMAZING to work with, she answers all my questions and concerns and reading her blog lets me know exactly what shes up to.

The thing I hear most often from people that 'dont like' Tessa or think shes too expensive, never once were direct with her and said this is what I have to spend, this is what I want, is this feasable? What can you do for me?

I asked her directly in my first email this is my budget, I want pocketfolds, this is how many invites I need, is this feasable? She got right back to me to let me know it was. I priced out someone else who was looking to charge me double, for NO pocketfolds and not half the stuff Im getting with Tessa.

Her work and her clients speak for itself. I hope this helped. All Im saying is give her a chance before letting other people put a bad taste in your mouth. Email her your budget and just be honest, shes very honest and SUCH A SWEETHEART!

Definately call Judi and you will be sooo happy- there is no way that can compare the two because it depends on the person...I need to touch and feel and see my product- you'll see...

Soooo may people told me about Judi and I wish I had listened sooner!

tessa def gets back to you fast. I emailed her in the past explaining what i wanted. She is very nice too

ok so yes tessa's process can be lengthy, if you are pressed for time she will push you through it faster. she seems to always come through despite your time frame.

i took the design she made for me and took it to 2 different places, one of them being bridal paperie. the first place quoted me $1100 for 125 invites...judi quoted me $900...Tessa's quote was arund $500...it was a no brainer for me.
i get the whole wanting to feel the invite and stuff but Tessa does send you a proof. also Judi wanted me to commit and pay a deposit before i saw a design (which makes sense, alot of businesses do that) however tessa was able to show me what she had for me before i was obligated to commit and that gave me piece of mind.
i love my invite from tessa and i showed some people and they thought it was beautiful as well. i'm all for tessa!

That was another question i have..

Tessa doesn't charge to put together a proof and show you through email?

Part of me would feel bad having her do that work and then not go with her for whatever reason

she will give you designs...let you tweak them...then she puts the proof together and sends it to you with a quote, also with a bag of different color swatches you can use.

if you want to move along then you fill out the contract and proof approval which lets you tweak it further and add or take away anything. i really liked that part of the process...i'm gonna look for a pic of my invite...
