Thailand

Anyone hear of anyone going to Thailand for their honeymoon? I have few friends who have been there and they say it's amazing. Anyone heard anything good or bad??

One of my coworkers recently went to Thailand and Vietnam with a friend and she had an incredible time. She stayed at the most resort-y places there and the pictures I've seen look amazing.

My FH wanted to go there on our Honeymoon. He's really into diving and it's great for that. We've had friends there that went and loved it, it's very affordable too.

FH and I were just looking up places in thailand today!

We have almost finalized on 2 places in Thailand - Pattaya and Bangkok. The 2 places are only 90 miles from each other so we figured we'd do 7 days in Pattaya and 3 or 4 in Bangkok.

This is where we will stay in Pattaya

Now we just have to check how the weather there is in early June.
Where in Thailand were you guys planning on visiting? Every place seems nice and we both love Thai food so we're excited!

I have never been there, but my sister-in-law is from Thailand and she and my twin neices have been visiting there for the past 2 months! They absolutely love it, althought they stay with family.

Here's what I posted about Thailand in another reply: We're not honeymooning there but I've been to Thailand and it's soooo gorgeous and exotic! Can I ask what made you choose that location?

If you want to FM me for info, I could tell you about my experiences and what you should prepare for. If you want to do a bit more independent travel instead of a planned tour, you can get better prices but it can be harder to organize. There definitely are not as many 'honeymoon' tour operators there, but you could also do a strict 'resort stay' and plan your own outings.

Everything is so exciting there! Here's a photo of when I was sipping fresh coconut milk which is a ritual - the locals love to split open the coconut for you as a friendly gesture. Don't laugh at the pic, I was exhausted from over 15 days of nonstop traveling.

Good luck and I hope to hear from ya soon!

ETA: Also the ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia are NOT to be missed if you are planning a longer stay closer to Bangkok (where you could get to another place too.) See pic below and try to find me haha!

I went to Thailand in December of last year. It was amazing. You will love it. Everyone was soooo friendly and helpful. Getting around was easy. The public transportation system is easy to understand, and all of the signs were in Thai and in English.

I went to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket - feel free to FM me. I'll try to answer any specific questions that you may have.

Thailand is amazing and it's one of the few places left where the dollar can take you far. It's very tourist friendly, lots of honeymoon options. Koh Samui and Chang Mai are my top choices. Bangkok is interesting - you can get custom made suits and clothes for really cheap there in like 3 days. Nice little treat to come back with a whole new wardrobe from the honeymoon!
