My mom had given me a card the night before explaining that my shower was on Sunday. She explained that she knew I was hard to surprise and even though I am always beautiful in her eyes, she knew I would appreciate the 'heads up' to get all dolled up.
The shower was at Verona Ristorante in Farmingdale. Everything was perfect!!! I had such a great time. I got almost all of the items on my registry and then some. My mom gave me a HOPE CHEST with things that my grandma made, things from when I was little, and then some new things that she bought. I couldnt' stop crying. I was a mess when I was going through all the stuff in the trunk.
I am going to try posting pictures, but they might be too large...
My MOH wrote this cute little poem about bringing a bottle of your favorite wine for the bride and groom in the invitation (you can see it in the photo...the white and purple tags) The guests wrote a short message with their name on it and attached it to the neck of the bottle. So now we've got lotttts of vino to get us through our marriage! ;)
i love the hope chest!! That is great that did /keep this tradition. The ladies I work with always talk about this hope chest and I never saw one!!

Re: Thank God it didn't pour yesterday, BUT...
yea, unfortunately my parents ordered the hope chest online and when it arrived, a corner was a little chipped...but my parents really wanted me to have it at the shower and it was too late to send it back...so, my dad put it together just so I would have it at the shower and then disassembled it after the shower to send it back. How sweet is that?!?!
