DH and I started dating 5 days before XMAS. I have him a Ralph Lauren sweater...one of the plain ones, but it still cost $75 at Macy's. It was a perfect 'new relationship' gift because it seemed simple, but obviously not cheap.

This is so funny. I was just about to say a nice sweater too!! DH and I started dating a month before xmas and that is exactly what I got him. LOL.

I think it depends how much you want to spend-- I like the ideas of DVDs and also baking something.. I did this for a V-day a couple of years ago when I first started dating someone- I baked him brownies or something and wrapped them up really nice with a card-- I think that will do the trick-
But if you want to buy something--
What about the new Seinfeld DVD? Also- if he is into music- they just released a DVD of Live Aid- with insider stuff and performances of all the bands-- I told my mom to get it for FH- I think that's a cool gift.
Another nice gift is a nice leather bound journal.

I hope I don't come across as bitchy but ... I might wait a bit on the gift. I'm a big believer in not buying things for the sake of buying them but waiting until you are confident in what you want to get. If you're not sure, I'd wait. Might not be a bad idea to see how he plays the holidays anyway.

Get him the Office Space DVD..... great movie, you can watch it together.... and if he doesn't like it then you know he's a dud and should dump him....![]()
Just kidding of course. What are some of his interests? Golf balls/tees are great - something very small but incredibly handy to have extras of. My first gift to my FI was a bottle of Jim Beam - he's a big ole hill-billy.
