Thank you cards

How long did it take you to write them all out from the time you received them with your picture? Did you write the same thing in every card? I'm thinking just to write:

Thank you so much for sharing our special day with us and for the very generous gift. We hope you had a great time!
Love, Mr & Mrs ------

However, I received a few gifts from people who didnt go to the wedding, what should I write in their card? Just keep the thank you part?

I finished my thank you cards within 3 months of the wedding. We had 300 guests so I had to write about about 130 cards!

For those who sent a gift but didn't attend, I wrote something like:

'We missed you on our wedding day but appreciate your very generous gift. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.'

We didn't have pictures of us as our thank you card... just a regular card with our names on the front (in the same design as our invitations). We asked our friends for all their photos and got wallet size prints of group shots. We then sent those group shots along with our thank you card. We thought guests would appreciate photos of themselves more than of us.
