We have had several guests who are unable to attend our wedding send a gift, either monetary or through our registry. My initial inclination was to send them a photo thank you card after the wedding, along with the other guests in attendance.
However, today FH was on the phone with a former coworker who said 'hey did you get the gift?' Should I be sending different thank you cards out to those not in attendance? I'm thinking that maybe I should since I don't want them to feel unacknowledged for months. Should I send two? I feel silly sending a card that says thank you for sharing in our day, yada yada if they weren't there.
What is everyone else doing?

Re: Thank you cards
I would send a separate batch of thank you cards. Maybe even if it's not a lot of people and actual card card saying than you). They may think you didn't receive the gift if you wait until you send out with the other thank you cards.

Re: Thank you cards
I would send one now and not one after the wedding.

Re: Thank you cards
I would send them a thank you card when you send out your bridal shower thank you cards. If your not sending out bridal shower thank you cards, then send them when you send out the wedding thank you's.

Re: Thank you cards
I think that people who rsvp no, but still send a gift deserve extra special really timely thank yous. Maybe after the wedding you can send them a quick note with a photo of you and FH from the day of so they can see you in your dress.
eta: so basically 1 thank you note right after and then a super quick note with photo (the second is not necessary though)

I agree that thank you cards should be sent as you're receiving gifts before the wedding.

That's a good idea! My shower is next Saturday and then I'm leaving on a cruise for a week & I'm going to write my thank you's while on the cruise, sounds dumb I know but I'll have down time!. I'll put their names in that pile since one was actually a shower gift and the other two were wedding gifts.

I am sending out thank yous as I get gifts...it is easier and the people know you got the gift.

Re: Thank you cards
I think you should send a thank you right after you get the gifts.
