Thank you cards for after the wedding

I need some help ladies. I have just started writing my Thank yous out from the wedding and I am stumped on what to write in the cards for people who didn't attend but still sent a gift. I like to write a little more than just 'thanks for your generous gift' but I also don't want to make them feel bad by saying something along the lines of 'Sorry you couldn't make the wedding...'
What do you guys think?

I don't think saying something like 'we missed you at the weddig' or 'wish you could have been there' would make anyone feel bad. It's not like you are saying 'you **** for not coming' JMO

i think that you should include a personal statement about the gift and say that their presence was missed that day.
