Thank you etiquette?

Thank you etiquette?

Just a thought when sending out Thank You's..
There are 2 people that came to our wedding but did not give a card or a gift which is fine because one is DH's uncle's family and the other is a friend of his both of which have had money problems in the past and still traveled from out of state to come.

Question, I should still send a Thank you, right?
What would you write..just
Thank you for coming to spend this special day with us....?

I don't want it to seem like we are looking for anything because technically they have a year but I don't feel like we should be waiting that long to send a TY?

Am I overthinking this?? I tend to do this!

Oh & if you send the generic TY do you send another if they send something later??

We sent TY to the non gifters- they said something like
'Thank you for helping us celebrate our marriage and sharing in our special day.'

Ditto

ETA: If they send a gift a few months down the line or whatever, you should send another TY to let them know you got the gift.

I think you should still send a TY out to them. What you had for a saying would be great......or even the above posters idea. :)

you should still send a thank you just because they came (and made the trip) to help you celebratey our big day.
