I got married in Sept and still have not done thank yous...or even ordered them. What is the thank you etiquette as far as when they should go out? I heard a few different things including within 6 months and then within 1 year...which is accurate?
Also, feel free to make me feel better by letting me know if you haven't gotten to this either!!!

Re: Thank you etiquette
You have a year. I have not done my thank yous yet either. I feel really bad but DH and I cannot seem to pick a picture...it would probably help if DH actually looked at all of the proofs

Re: Thank you etiquette
My wedding was Oct 9 and I didn't get them out until between Xmas and New Years bc I was waiting for my pro pics and then I had to order them etc. So mine took about 3 months and I felt bad enough about that.
They say you have up to one year but I think a lot of people start to get antsy/annoyed after a few months. Personally I'd really want to get them out before 6 months at the most.

I agree. I just got my pro pics this week so we'll be ordering and getting them out ASAP. Not my problem we had to wait 3 months to get the pictures, but they will be done and out before we get to 4.
However, I did once wait a year and a half to get a thank you from a couple ... So much time had passed that I was living with DH (FH at the time!) and they sent it to my mom's house because they didn't even know I had moved ...

We just picked our picture this week. I'm hoping to get them out before 4 months....but I don't know of that's going to happen.

Re: Thank you etiquette
I have my picture picked out, but I haven't ordered them yet. I don't know how long it takes for the cards to come in after they've been ordered, but I hope to have them out by 4 months the latest. We're at the one and a half month mark about, so figure by the time I stop being lazy, order the cards, and get them will probably be around 3 months...fortunately, or unfortunately if you want to think of it that way, I don't have many cards to write so won't take too long.

Re: Thank you etiquette
We got married Aug 8 & it took us until Nov 1st to choose our TY pic. Ty's were printed & ready for us by Thanksgiving - so everyone except vendors were mailed before Christmas. it took A LONG time to write them out. I think I had 110 TY's including vendors to write out. But I did finish the vendors after Christmas & mailed them out right before the new year.

I think you have a year. I got married in April - it took me about 6 months to do all of my side of the guest list and DH STILL has not done any of his.

I did mine in just over 6 monthes, I didnt get them until thanksgiving by the time I picked the picture, then I had over 200 to write...thank god I just sent the last of them out last week! I think 6 monthes-1 year is still ok, more then that is pushing it!

Re: Thank you etiquette
Funny you asked this question. I just logged on for the first time in a while to ask the same thing.
We married Aug. 15. Finally picking up our pictures this weekend. They should be in the mail before Valentine's Day which would be around 6 months. Hope you feel better. You aren't alone.

Re: Thank you etiquette
I haven't ordered my thank yous yet, but I've only been married just shy of 2 months. I hope to order them some time this week, and don't know how long it takes to come in...I'm guessing I'll probably get them out around the 3-4 month mark, so not too far off from you.
If it makes you feel any better, we went to a wedding in mid-July and have not received the thank you card from that wedding yet.

Im only at the 2 1/2 month mark, but if it makes you feel better I attended a wedding 3 years ago and no one has yet to receive a TY lol.
