Thank you for recommending Inkspun!
Hello all!
I just wanted to thank whoever shared the link to Inkspun's web site. From what I have seen posted so far, no one had used them -- so I was a bit nervous! I am VERY happy to report that my envelopes came out great, and I would definately recommend them to others.
So here's how it worked: First I sent an email request for samples. Bill at Inkspun promptly sent me envelopes printed with four different fonts so I could check out the quality. I picked out the style I liked, and emailed him my list (formatted how they would be printed on the envelopes). He does not require an electronic list -- but I thought it would be easiest (and prevent typos!). I mailed him the blank envelopes and a check, while he created 'proofs' so I could see how my guest names looked in the font I chose. The day he received my envelopes, he printed the addresses and sent them immediately back to me. So, in one week including shipping back and forth, I had my 170 envelopes! Out of 170, only one inner envelope was missing. Everything else was perfect, and he sent me the missing one as soon as I let him know.
He charges $0.39 for outer envelopes, and $0.20 for inner envelopes. It looked far better then anything I could have done at home, and cost 1/3 the price of any other machine addressed calligraphy services I had found. (1/4 the cost of the cheapest hand calligrapher I found -- whose work wasn't that great.) They really looked beautiful. The guests will be able to tell it was printed merely because of how perfectly straight and even the writing is - not because of how the ink appears.
Let me know if you have any questions. This is a fabulous way to keep some costs down, while still making a great impression!!!
